Nongshim announced on the 19th that it will launch a TV commercial featuring ordinary people as models for Shin Ramyun, completely changing the concept.
The new Shin Ramyun advertisement is characterized by using ordinary people as models to express relatable memories everyone has about ramen. A Nongshim official explained, "We focused on portraying Shin Ramyun, the nation's number one ramen brand, which is very familiar yet holds special memories for each person."
Previously, Nongshim had employed world stars representing Korea, such as Son Heung-min, Park Ji-sung, and Song Kang-ho, as models for Shin Ramyun with the slogan "Shin Ramyun that moves men to tears." This new advertisement features the slogan "Ramyun that fills life deliciously," emphasizing the friendliness and everyday nature of Korea's representative ramen that accompanies daily moments.
While the long-used slogan "Shin Ramyun that moves men to tears" highlighted the deliciously spicy taste that brings tears, the newly introduced slogan conveys the meaning of becoming a companion that shares customers' joys and sorrows and engages in emotional exchange beyond being just a food product, according to the company.
The new commercial also carries the message of hoping for a delicious daily life with Shin Ramyun in the new year, featuring scenes of enjoying Shin Ramyun with family, friends, and colleagues under the theme "Ramyun that deliciously fills life." It is notable that the commercial expresses Shin Ramyun's status as a ramen enjoyed worldwide, even while being close at hand in every moment.
The four upcoming commercials will be composed of more specific ramen episodes. They depict relatable stories such as enjoying Shin Ramyun while camping with family, soothing the stomach after a company dinner, eating Shin Ramyun with friends, and comfortably enjoying it in one's own space, all conveyed through entertaining lyrics and a distinctive melody.
Nongshim's Shin Ramyun advertisement "Ramyun that fills life deliciously" is scheduled to air starting on the 20th. The four main episodes featuring everyday stories will be released sequentially from next month.
