Visit to Korea Economic Federation and Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Exploring Cooperation for the Establishment of the ‘Korea Entrepreneurship Center’
Jo Gyu-il, Mayor of Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, continued a busy schedule on the 17th and 18th by meeting key figures in the economic sector to promote the spread of 'Jinju K-Entrepreneurship.'
On the afternoon of the 17th, he met with Koo Ja-yeol, Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association, at LS Yongsan Tower in Seoul to discuss cooperation plans for spreading Jinju K-Entrepreneurship.
At this meeting, Mayor Jo explained the projects that Jinju City has been promoting to expand Jinju K-Entrepreneurship globally and pass it on to future generations, including the Jinju K-Entrepreneurship International Forum and Youth Forum, the launch of the Jinju K-Entrepreneurship Foundation, the establishment of a global network for Jinju K-Entrepreneurship, and Jinju K-Entrepreneurship education for elementary, middle, and high schools.
Additionally, he requested active interest and participation from the Korea International Trade Association, which leads national economic development, in the Jinju K-International Forum and Youth Forum to help Jinju K-Entrepreneurship establish itself as a new spirit of the times.
In response, Chairman Koo Ja-yeol said, “As a solution to the crises of modern society, K-Entrepreneurship is gaining attention, and we will fulfill our role as a private partner to ensure it is passed on to future generations.”
Following this, Mayor Jo visited the Federation of Korean Industries to discuss cooperation plans for the construction of the ‘Korea Entrepreneurship Hall.’
Mayor Jo stated, “Jinju City is promoting the construction of the Korea Entrepreneurship Hall to pass on and develop Jinju K-Entrepreneurship to future generations and to focus on the past, present, and future of Korean entrepreneurship. At the end of last year, the feasibility study budget was included in the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ budget. To successfully build and operate the Korea Entrepreneurship Hall, it is absolutely necessary for economic organizations to actively participate in the feasibility study,” he proposed.
In response to Mayor Jo’s proposal, Kim Chang-beom, Executive Vice Chairman of the Federation of Korean Industries, said, “The Federation is very interested in nurturing future young CEOs through entrepreneurship education. In that regard, we agree on the necessity of constructing the Korea Entrepreneurship Hall and believe it is a worthwhile endeavor to join. We will consider what role the association can play together with our staff.”
On the 18th, Mayor Jo visited the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry to request their participation in spreading Jinju K-Entrepreneurship and in the feasibility study for the Korea Entrepreneurship Hall.
In response, Woo Tae-hee, Executive Vice Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, “More than ever, it is necessary to consider the role expected of companies in our society. To overcome the complex crises our society is facing, a new entrepreneurship spirit is required from businesspeople. The construction of the Korea Entrepreneurship Hall will also be a source of hope for businesspeople.”
