NHN Cloud "Easily Access Event Venues with AI Facial Recognition"

NHN Cloud announced on the 18th that its AI face recognition solution, 'NHN Face Recognition (AI Face Recognition),' has proven its versatility by being applied as an access method in various spaces such as data centers and event venues.

NHN Face Recognition is a solution developed through high-quality facial dataset training based on NHN Cloud's proprietary machine learning AI technology. It offers various functions including face detection and analysis, comparison, and identity verification.

NHN Face Recognition was introduced at the access gates of the National AI Data Center, which opened in Gwangju in October 2023. The National AI Data Center is a national strategic data center equipped with top-tier global high-spec computing resources. NHN Face Recognition is utilized in data centers where authentication of authorized personnel is critical, demonstrating its effectiveness in security-sensitive facilities.

Last year, NHN Face Recognition was used as an access method at numerous events such as the AI Expo and the Korea Software Grand Exhibition. It is also scheduled to be introduced in the 'Face Entry Service' of 'Ticketlink,' a leading domestic ticketing platform. This will enable customers visiting exhibition halls and performance venues to enter easily with face authentication alone, without physical tickets. Additionally, it is gaining prominence as an identity verification method in areas where security and personal identification are important, such as mobile passports and online investment-linked finance platforms, as well as in electronic identification and financial industries.

An NHN Cloud official stated, "NHN Face Recognition, which has been recognized for its performance at international technology competitions, is being widely used not only in cultural spaces such as event venues and exhibition halls but also in technical spaces like data centers. We will further advance the solution to provide convenience in various security-critical areas closely related to daily life, such as finance and non-face-to-face authentication, beyond just physical access methods."
