Samsung Securities Targets MZ Generation with Event "Compete in Stocks with Friends"

Samsung Securities announced on the 18th that it will hold a 'Stock Battle with Friends' event for MZ generation customers (born between 1984 and 2004), where participants compete in stock battles with friends to win prize money.

The Stock Battle with Friends event allows participants to compete in returns through domestic and international stocks (Korea, the US, Europe, China, Hong Kong, Japan) both online and offline. Participants can apply for each weekly event and then engage in battles.

In the first week, the battle is designed so that anyone can easily win prize money. Participants whose cumulative returns exceed 1% during the battle period will share a prize pool of 50 million KRW equally. The second week also offers a total prize of 50 million KRW. Participants whose cumulative returns exceed 5% during the battle period will share 25 million KRW equally. Additionally, the top three participants by return in each league will receive a prize of 25 million KRW.

In the 'True Friend Battle' event, participants can create battle rooms with acquaintances and friends, receive coffee together, and win prize money if they win. Battle rooms can be created with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 30 participants during the battle period. All participants in the battle room will receive one cup of Mega Coffee each. Prize money accumulates at 5,000 KRW per participant, and ultimately, the friend with the highest return rate wins the prize. If a battle room consists of 10 or more participants, the room leader will receive a separate allowance.

When participating in the event, participants must check the battle rules and precautions, including stocks excluded from return calculations for each week’s battle. Prize money can only be awarded if the underlying assets and transaction amounts are each at least 100,000 KRW per battle. Participants should also verify turnover requirements for the 'top 3 returners' prize in the second week.

A Samsung Securities representative said, "Unlike in the past, university students and young professionals who are interested in stocks tend to enjoy communication by exchanging information through group chats and open chat rooms." He added, "We will promote events and marketing tailored to the investment behaviors of these MZ generation investors so that friends investing in stocks can enjoy themselves and gain investment experience together."
