Jeonnam Damyang-gun Uses Intelligent IoT for Senior Health Management

On the 18th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will operate a senior health management project based on intelligent Internet of Things (AI-IoT).

The project targets seniors aged 65 and older who need frailty and chronic disease management as well as improvement in health management behaviors.

New participants are being recruited until the end of February, and eligible individuals are smartphone users with health risk factors (such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes) who voluntarily wish to participate.

However, those with long-term care grades 1 to 5, recipients of remote health management (mobile healthcare) from public health centers, and those supported by the National Health Insurance Service for chronic disease self-measurement devices are excluded from the service.

Selected participants will receive health management services by linking the rented devices with the ‘Oneul Geongang (Today Health)’ app, and devices (wrist activity trackers, body composition analyzers, blood pressure monitors, blood glucose meters, etc.) will be distributed according to their health condition.

Seniors without smartphones can receive services through a ‘screen-type AI speaker.’

Additionally, through a preliminary health check, participants are classified into healthy, pre-frail, and frail groups to receive non-face-to-face health consultations. They can also set health management goals and receive rewards upon achievement, receiving about six months of support necessary for remote health management to enable self-health care.

For more details or inquiries about applying for the health management project, please contact the Visiting Health Team at the public health center.

A county official stated, “We hope for active participation from residents who have difficulties managing their health or need improvement.”
