Samsung Electronics has unveiled its latest flagship smartphone series, the 'Galaxy S24,' equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) technology, as the distribution industry begins pre-orders through live broadcasts and other channels. Pre-order customers will receive benefits such as discounts and trade-in programs.
On the 18th, 11st announced that it will start pre-sales of the Galaxy S24 series unlocked models through a live broadcast at midnight on the 19th. The broadcast will be conducted on 11st's live streaming platform 'LIVE11,' featuring content such as the physical unveiling of the Galaxy S24 series, demonstrations of Galaxy AI functions, and introductions to specifications and usage tips for each model.
Customers who purchase through the 11st live broadcast will receive exclusive benefits including ▲expanded card companies eligible for discounts ▲Shinsegae gift certificates ▲Starbucks mobile vouchers on a first-come, first-served basis. 11st will also operate an additional compensation program called 'Galaxy Trade-In' exclusively in the e-commerce sector from the 19th until February 29. Galaxy Trade-In is a program that offers extra compensation on top of the trade-in value when customers return eligible used devices.
Additionally, during the pre-sale period until the 25th, discounts from card companies such as Shinhan, KB Kookmin, and BC, as well as up to 22 months of interest-free installments when paying with 11Pay, will be provided. Products will be delivered sequentially starting from the day after the pre-sale ends, on the 26th.
SK Telecom subscription products will also be available for pre-sale during the same period. Customers purchasing the Galaxy S24 series through 11st's 'T Official Agency' will receive card discounts, T Membership discounts, early-bird purchase gifts, and will also be eligible for a prize draw event.
Ahn Seung-hee, head of Digital/Living at 11st, said, "This new product, which has attracted global smartphone market attention even before its release, is particularly meaningful as Samsung Electronics' first AI smartphone in the S series. We will present differentiated benefits unique to 11st, recognized as the leading platform for online smartphone purchases."
CJ OnStyle also announced on the same day that it will hold a Samsung Electronics Galaxy S24 series launch mobile showcase at midnight on the 19th. CJ OnStyle will debut this Galaxy S24 series showcase on mobile rather than TV.
This is the fourth collaboration between CJ OnStyle and Samsung Electronics' Galaxy series. CJ OnStyle has consecutively held mobile showcases starting with the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 launch events. The 'Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5' event held last August attracted a cumulative audience of 1 million viewers. The Galaxy S24 series mobile showcase preview page, released on the 12th, recorded nearly 50,000 views in one day, and the number of customers who set reminders to watch the showcase increased by 436% compared to the previous Galaxy S23 series showcase.
Pre-purchase benefits are also offered. Customers who apply for broadcast reminders by the 18th will be randomly given up to 50,000 KRW in CJ OnStyle points or up to a one-year subscription to TVING. Separate discount coupons for the Galaxy S24 series will also be provided. During the showcase broadcast on the 19th, in addition to a lucky draw event, customers who purchase the Galaxy S24 series beforehand will receive both 10,000 KRW in CJ OnStyle points and a one-month TVING subscription.
Kim Shin-yu, head of Mobile Live at CJ OnStyle, stated, "Beyond simple sales, we plan to focus on nurturing mobile live commerce broadcasts this year as a platform that can provide unique shopping experiences."
Meanwhile, on the 17th (local time), Samsung Electronics held 'Galaxy Unpacked 2024' at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, unveiling the Galaxy S24 series. This series is the world's first AI smartphone equipped with Samsung's self-developed Galaxy AI, featuring real-time translation during calls, enhanced camera and photo editing functions, among other improvements.
