'The Idol' OST 'One of the Girls'
Record-Breaking K-Pop Female Solo Achievement
Group 'BLACKPINK' member Jennie has set a new personal record as the highest-ranking K-pop female solo artist on the US Billboard main singles chart 'Hot 100' with a collaboration track.
According to Billboard on the 17th (local time), Jennie's song "One Of The Girls," the OST for the HBO series 'The Idol,' performed with Canadian star singer-songwriter The Weeknd and American actress-singer Lily-Rose Melody Depp, ranked 61st on the 'Hot 100' chart (dated January 20).
"One Of The Girls" initially entered the chart at number 100 three weeks ago but fell off due to a surge of Christmas songs. It re-entered last week at number 69. Notably, this week it rose 8 spots to set a new personal best and established a new highest ranking for a K-pop female solo artist.
Other K-pop female solo performances on the chart include BLACKPINK member Ros?'s "On The Ground" at 70th place. Additionally, BLACKPINK member Lisa's "Lalisa" and "Money" ranked 84th and 90th respectively. Former 2NE1 member CL's "LIFTED" had previously reached 94th. CL also appeared at 97th as a featured artist on Psy's "Daddy."
Jennie is expanding her activities by debuting as an actress through 'The Idol.' In December last year, she ended her exclusive contract with her original agency YG Entertainment. While future BLACKPINK activities will continue through YG Entertainment, she established a one-person agency called 'Odd Atelier' (ODD ATELIER·OA) with her mother for her solo activities.
