Specific Discussions on New Projects and Priority Businesses
Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-cheol) announced that it held the '2024 Work Plan Report Meeting' for four days starting from the 12th.
Presided over by Governor Lee Sang-cheol, this report meeting shared the major work plans of each department for the second year of the 8th civil administration to achieve visible results based on past administrative achievements and for a "Gokseong where citizens are happier." Detailed discussions were held on new projects and priority projects.
This year, the strategy focuses above all on citizen safety, livelihood stability, and balanced regional development, concentrating all efforts on creating a competitive city that grows and develops one step further.
First, it presents the basic direction for enhancing citizen happiness, discovers specific promotion goals and policy tasks, and establishes a sustainable happiness policy promotion system.
By sector, rapid disaster response and citizen safety policies include ?24/7 operation of the disaster situation room ?Establishment of wildfire extinguishing facilities ?Installation of wildfire leased helicopter hangars ?Expansion of smart management systems for small rivers ?Operation of quarantine management task forces for various livestock diseases.
Livelihood stabilization projects that enrich citizens' lives include ?Issuance of card-type Simcheong gift certificates ?Support for logistics costs of small and medium enterprises ?Implementation of various small business management stabilization policy projects.
Furthermore, youth-attracting population policy projects include ?Creation of public rental housing youth housing towns ?Youth 10,000 won housing project ?Youth monthly rent support ?Youth housing loan interest support ?Expansion of youth community support ?Support for youth farmers' land lease fees ?Support for youth farmers' startups, supporting youth housing stability and independence through youth job creation.
In the cultural tourism sector, through various cultural projects such as ?Operation of the Cultural Creator Academy ?Together Gokseong Culture Forum ?Activation of lifestyle culture 'Sharing Preferences,' it lays the foundation for a cultural city that promotes regional vitality, and expands stay-type tourism content such as ?Southern region wide-area tourism rail stay and creation of artificial ecological forest tourism gardens ?Development of Seomjin River Moonlight Road in Ip-myeon Hamheojeong area ?Operation of a permanent garden rose sales center ?Creation of a children's water experience center in Seomjin River Train Village.
In agriculture, foreign seasonal workers are introduced and operated to solve rural labor shortages, and a comprehensive food plan connecting production-distribution-consumption within the region is established. ?Promotion of eco-friendly agriculture infrastructure projects ?Creation of powdered rice production complexes ?Support for agricultural food vouchers are also pursued.
In health and welfare, a more dense and robust welfare safety net is established through ?Operation of senior health promotion centers by region ?Expansion of knee artificial joint surgery cost support ?Operation of visiting health buses ?Tuberculosis screening for seniors on tour at senior centers ?Support for postpartum care costs (up to 500,000 KRW) ?Support for daily care services ?Support for school milk supply vouchers.
In addition, major pending projects such as ?New waste treatment facility construction project ?Seokgok-myeon urban regeneration New Deal project ?Rural New Vitality Plus project ?Un-gok specialized agricultural industrial complex construction project ?Gokseong Return Village creation project ?Rustic Town advancement project will be actively promoted to improve citizens' quality of life and regional vitality.
Governor Lee Sang-cheol requested, “While declaring to operate a performance-centered administration, I ask all staff to work with a creative and innovative attitude for rapid execution in the first half of the year to revitalize the local economy and for a happy Gokseong envisioned by the citizens.”
