On the 17th (local time), Samsung Electronics held a 'Galaxy Unpacked' event in San Jose, USA, unveiling the Galaxy S24 series, its first AI phone.
Taemoon No, President of Samsung Electronics MX Division, said in his opening remarks, "We aim to completely change the way we connect with the world and open a new era of innovation," adding, "With the power of innovation, we can turn dreams into reality and pursue higher goals."
First, the 'Real-time Interpretation' feature, which provides two-way interpretation services during phone calls between users speaking different languages, was introduced for the first time.
Real-time Interpretation can be used without passing through cloud servers, allowing users to access it via the pre-installed phone app without needing to download a separate application.
In particular, since the call content is not exposed outside the phone, users can enjoy fast service without security concerns. Supported languages include 13 languages such as Korean, English, Chinese, French, and Japanese.
The 'Real-time Translation' feature is also available in major mobile messenger apps, including the messaging app. This is also done through the Samsung Keyboard app and supports 13 languages.
Samsung has introduced the 'Circle to Search' feature, developed in collaboration with Google, providing a completely new search experience.
Users can easily and quickly search by simply drawing a circle on any screen without switching between apps.
The usage is simple. While viewing a screen, press and hold the home button, then draw a circle or underline an image or word to get search results on the Google window. Using Google's generative AI, Gemini, users can conduct additional searches conversationally for any questions they have.
The Note Assist feature in the Samsung Notes app summarizes and organizes the user's writings or memos and converts them into templates such as meeting minutes format.
When recording meetings or lectures with the voice recording app, it separates the voices of up to 10 speakers and provides individual transcripts. Users can summarize or translate the transcripts to handle tasks efficiently.
With generative AI technology, users can freely edit images taken with the camera app by changing or moving objects within the photo. AI-generated images are marked with a watermark, allowing users to verify that the image was created or edited by AI.
The various AI features of the Galaxy S24 are expected to serve as tools to enhance personal creativity and enable smooth communication without language barriers, upgrading life to a new level.
