Momentum Builds Toward 10 Million Cumulative Members
Impact of Launching 'Homeplus ONE Tier System'
Homeplus announced on the 17th that its My Homeplus membership has surpassed 9 million members, gaining momentum to achieve the goal of 10 million cumulative members within the year.
The company analyzed that its membership strategy, designed with a focus on customers and practical benefits, has successfully navigated the era of high inflation. By introducing a free membership that expands customer convenience and benefits beyond the existing tier system, it is evaluated to have succeeded in securing loyal customers. This is the result 200 days after launching the 'Homepl ONE Tier System,' a free membership integrating online and offline channels.
Homeplus launched the 'Homepl ONE Tier System' in June last year. It integrated the previously separate tier systems for Mart, Express, Online, and Mall into a structure that allows members to enjoy benefits across all Homeplus channels. A notable feature is the significant extension of the performance evaluation period from one month to two months, further reducing the burden on consumers. The VIP+ tier, which can be obtained by making four purchases totaling over 700,000 KRW within two months, offers shopping coupons with up to 12% discounts, birthday gifts, free parking, and annual benefits worth 1.7 million KRW.
The number of customers receiving benefits from the Homepl ONE Tier System increased more than fivefold compared to the offline tier system last year. The number of 20-30s membership members also grew by about 20% compared to three years ago. The number of customers making cross-channel purchases between online and offline channels has significantly increased. The number of members purchasing across Mart-Online and Express-Online channels rose by approximately 10% each compared to before the launch of the Homepl ONE Tier System.
The number of club members receiving category-specific benefits exceeded 1.25 million, a 15% increase compared to before the membership launch. The company operates eight clubs?Babyteen, Meat, Pappy, MyPet, Homechelin, Travel, Deli, and Shareholder?that offer up to 30% monthly discounts, with club member purchase rates exceeding 30%.
To celebrate surpassing 9 million membership members, the company will hold a special member discount event from the 18th to the 31st, offering up to 50% discounts on fresh foods, processed foods, and daily necessities for My Homeplus membership members. During the first week of the event, all Nonghyup Ansim Hanwoo products will be offered at up to 50% discount prices exclusively for My Homeplus members. Popular agricultural and livestock products such as Ilpum Pork Belly (100g, 1,540 KRW), Fresh Special Eggs (30 pieces, 5,243 KRW), and Jirisan Seolhyang Strawberries and Dawn Strawberries (500g, 8,995 KRW) have been selected and will be provided at a 30% discount in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
Kim Minsu, Head of Homeplus Membership Marketing, stated, “Based on customer-centric service competitiveness that only Homeplus can offer, we are expanding not only loyal customers but also new customers,” adding, “Through thorough analysis of customers, we will achieve the goal of surpassing 10 million membership members.”
