'Historical Truth of the Democratization Movement' Publication Report Meeting

The historical value and significance of the May 18 Democratic Movement are highlighted through photographs.

On the 24th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's Former Jeonnam Provincial Government Building Restoration Promotion Team will hold a publication report meeting titled 'The Historical Truth of the May 18 Democratic Movement Confirmed through Photographs' in the conference room of Jeonil Building 245. This collection verifies the scenes at the time through photographs, dispelling misunderstandings and distortions. It includes over 15,000 photos taken by domestic and international journalists and the general public. The photos are analyzed by shooting date, location, and incident, making them easy to understand.

Song Yun-seok, head of the Former Jeonnam Provincial Government Building Restoration Promotion Team, said, "This is the third publication following the 'Norman Soff Donation Special Exhibition Catalog (2021)' and 'The Messages They Left: Shutters Suppressed Under Oppression (2022)'." He added, "It will be used as exhibition content for the future restoration project of the former Jeonnam Provincial Government Building."
