Dongjak-gu, Noryangjin 2 District High-Rise Development (Up to 45 Floors) Kicks Off

Approval of Two 45-Story Residential-Commercial Complex Towers Passed by Seoul City Architecture Review on the 9th

Dongjak-gu, Noryangjin 2 District High-Rise Development (Up to 45 Floors) Kicks Off

Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced that the redevelopment project of the Noryangjin 2 Redevelopment Promotion Zone has officially begun as it passed the Seoul Metropolitan Government's architectural review on the 9th of this month.

According to this review, Noryangjin 2 District (area 312-75) will consist of two buildings ranging from 4 basement floors to 45 above-ground floors, featuring 411 public housing units (303 for sale and 108 public units) along with ancillary complex facilities.

Reflecting the points raised during last July's architectural review, the number of buildings was changed from three to two, and the height was increased from 29 floors to 45 floors.

Designed as a 45-floor residential-commercial complex, the tallest building in Noryangjin New Town, it will create a harmonious skyline with the surrounding areas such as Noryangjin and Yeouido.

Additionally, a plaza will be created at the front of the public pedestrian passage to strengthen connectivity with external spaces of the complex, and ancillary welfare facilities accessible directly from the public pedestrian passage are planned to promote local community activation.

Once the development of Noryangjin 2 District near Jangseungbaegi Station on Subway Line 7 is completed, it is expected to become a ‘landmark at the center of the southwest area’ by generating a synergistic effect along with large-scale complex developments in the area.

The area around Jangseungbaegi Station is also planned to include a new government office building scheduled for completion in August this year, a high-end premium silver town, and a complex building with a swimming pool and sauna.

Within the 738,000㎡ New Town area covering Noryangjin and Daebang-dong in Dongjak-gu, eight districts are currently undergoing redevelopment projects. Noryangjin 1 District is in the process of selecting a construction company, and the other districts are progressing smoothly.

Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, stated, “With the architectural review approval of Noryangjin 2 District, which is considered the critical milestone of the redevelopment project, development will proceed in earnest. We will continue to successfully lead urban development projects within the district, including Noryangjin New Town, to transform the map of Dongjak-gu.”
