Update Personal Information of 622 Welfare Benefit Households by the 30th
Prevent Fraudulent Benefits and Promote Efficient Welfare Budget Execution...Recovery Measures for Confirmed Fraudulent Claims
Dongdaemun-gu (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced on the 17th that it will undertake the maintenance of personal information for welfare benefit recipients to prevent fraudulent receipt of welfare benefits and to ensure the efficient execution of welfare finances.
The district conducts personal information maintenance twice a year, and this maintenance is being carried out through the next-generation social security information system (Happiness e-um) until the 30th of this month.
To prevent any recipients from being omitted during the monthly income and property change verification survey, changes such as births, deaths, marriages, household separation, and household merging of welfare recipient households are reflected. The personal information registered in the next-generation social security information system (Happiness e-um) is compared with the current family relationship registry and resident registration information for maintenance.
This maintenance targets 622 households in the first half of this year.
Additionally, through the verification survey conducted in January, 85 types of public data from the National Tax Service, National Health Insurance Service, and others are received to conduct focused investigations on 497 households with significant income changes or newly acquired property.
The district will provide an opportunity for prior explanation and will take recovery measures if fraudulent receipt is confirmed.
Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “Through systematic eligibility management of welfare benefit recipients, we will enhance the efficiency of welfare finances and make every effort to discover welfare blind spots to prevent unfortunate cases where people miss out on welfare benefits.”
