Jogyuil Jinju Mayor Lays Foundation to Achieve Third Miracle

New Year's First Pledge and Current Project Promotion Meeting
Discussion on Strategies for Advancing 114 Priority Projects

Jinju City in Gyeongnam announced on the 17th that it held a report meeting on the promotion of the first pledges and current projects of 2024 for three days between the 9th and 15th, chaired by Mayor Jo Gyu-il, at the small conference room on the 5th floor of City Hall.


At this report meeting, under the banner of "Laying the Foundation for the Third Miracle," active discussions were held on the promotion strategies of 114 major priority projects for 2024 that will lead the 8th term of the elected government’s vision of "Prosperous Jinju, Happy Citizens."


Especially, since this year's budget has been significantly reduced, the timing of each project’s implementation was adjusted for efficient city administration, and projects facing some difficulties were discussed in terms of what problems exist and what solutions can be applied.

The core projects of Jinju City in 2024 for the administration and economy sectors include ▲Establishment of Jinju City Facilities Management Corporation ▲Construction of KAI Rotary Wing Flight Center and Future Aircraft (AAV) Demonstration Center ▲Promotion of Youth Vitality Projects ▲Installation of Jinju Startup Support Center.


In the culture and sports sectors, projects such as ▲Creation of Korea Cultural City ▲Construction of Jinju Traditional Culture Experience Center ▲Construction of Korea Entrepreneurship Center ▲Urban regeneration projects in Seongbuk, Gangnam, Jungang, and Sangdae districts ▲Development of Sinandong Complex Sports Town and Jeongchon-myeon Sports Facilities (Swimming Pool) are being promoted.


In the urban construction and transportation environment sectors, key projects planned for promotion include ▲Support for relocation and reconstruction of the National Jinju Museum ▲Opening of urban planning roads around Namgang Riverside Multipurpose Cultural Center ▲Creation of Jinju Battle Plaza ▲Construction of Happiness Dream Center ▲Construction of Jinju Silk Museum ▲Free bus rides for youth ▲Establishment of hydrogen charging stations for commercial vehicles ▲Creation of Jinyangho Otter Ecological Observation Center ▲Promotion of Jinyangho Renaissance Project ▲Construction of Mangyeongbigeo Theme Park Observatory.


Additionally, in the agriculture and clean water sectors, major projects such as ▲Rural area development projects ▲Construction and operation of Integrated Food Support Center and Agricultural Products Comprehensive Processing Center ▲Integration of Water Purification Plants 1 and 2 ▲Replacement of old water pipes and sewage pipelines will be thoroughly promoted.


Mayor Jo emphasized, "Although domestic and international situations remain very severe in the new year, we must make our best efforts to create results that satisfy citizens by skillfully managing the given conditions."


He added, "The pledges and current projects our city is pursuing are complex tasks closely connected to each other. To promote them efficiently, we must boldly break down the walls between departments and strengthen collaboration and communication to accelerate progress."
