President to Review 'Sales Diplomacy' Achievements... Launch of Global Partnership Implementation Task Force

On the 16th, Kim Byung-hwan, the 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, presided over the first meeting of the "Global Partnership Implementation Monitoring Team" (hereinafter referred to as the Implementation Monitoring Team) at the Government Seoul Office, with the participation of 14 related ministries and agencies.

The Implementation Monitoring Team is part of a pan-government effort to ensure that the sales diplomacy achievements of the President lead to tangible results that the public can feel. The team plans to hold meetings every two months going forward. The meeting discussed ▲systematic support for identifying achievements before overseas visits ▲establishment of implementation plans and monitoring of progress for visit outcomes ▲discussion of support measures such as regulatory reform, financial support, and tax improvements to resolve difficulties in promoting visit achievements ▲support for domestic economic ripple effects such as domestic investment, export, and job creation related to achievement projects.

Additionally, the Implementation Monitoring Team serves as a bridge linking economic diplomacy and the domestic economy. At the meeting, officials from domestic economy-related ministries, including the Director General of Planning and Coordination at the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Director General of Economic Structural Reform at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, attended to discuss ways to connect the expansion of the global playing field for Korean companies with employment.

Vice Minister Kim emphasized the President’s remark that "overseas visits are directly linked to job creation and people’s livelihoods," and stated that by systematically implementing follow-up measures after the visits, the Implementation Monitoring Team will manage and support the process to maximize the ripple effects on the Korean economy until the end.
