At Gwangyang City Hall Civil Service Office, for citizens and visiting civil petitioners
Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced that it will hold a ‘Free Family Motto Writing’ event for Gwangyang citizens and visiting civil petitioners at the city hall civil service office from Monday, the 22nd, to Friday, the 26th.
Except during the COVID-19 period, the city has been conducting the ‘Free Family Motto Writing’ event every year at the beginning of the new year to widely promote family mottos, which serve as a guide for family life, through the talent donation of Director Yang Tae-sang of the Korea Family Motto Research Institute.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and in celebration of the Year of the Blue Dragon in 2024, citizens can have their own prepared family mottos or one of about 20 prepared phrases such as ‘Chosimbulbyeon (初心不變) ? Always like the first time, unchanging’ written for free.
Additionally, those who wish to keep their family mottos can purchase framing or frames on-site.
Park Jong-tae, head of the Civil Service and Land Administration Division, said, “A family motto holds the beauty of harmony and love that connects a household and family as one, and its meaning is even deeper in today’s era of nuclear families,” adding, “We hope many citizens will show interest and participate in this event that reflects on the true meaning of family.”
Meanwhile, Director Yang Tae-sang of Jeongsan (正山) has been dedicated to promoting the family motto movement by conducting free family motto writing events for over 20 years at government offices, hospitals, financial institutions, and more nationwide.
