The Gwangju Metropolitan Fire Safety Headquarters announced on the 16th that it will implement fire prevention measures until February 8th to ensure a safe Lunar New Year holiday.
This plan is being promoted to strengthen fire safety management by establishing a rapid disaster response system and creating a multifaceted preventive environment ahead of the holiday.
The Gwangju Fire Safety Headquarters will conduct fire safety inspections at multi-use facilities such as sales facilities and warehouses, as well as traditional markets, to eliminate fire risk factors in advance, including actions such as cutting off power to fire safety equipment or blocking emergency exits.
In addition, on-site administrative guidance will be provided to fire-vulnerable targets such as sales facilities and logistics warehouses to improve the safety awareness of related personnel and establish a voluntary safety management system.
In particular, to create a safe residential environment, the "Setting Up Our Apartment Evacuation Plan Campaign" will be promoted for each household to help residents learn evacuation procedures and secure rooftop evacuation routes, implementing a life-oriented apartment evacuation safety management plan.
During the Lunar New Year holiday period, special alert duty will be carried out to prepare for various accidents such as fires, maintaining an emergency response posture for all staff, and fire trucks will be stationed close to areas expected to have large crowds, such as bus terminals and stations.
Kim Young-il, Director of the Protection and Prevention Division, said, "We will do our best to ensure that citizens can spend a safe and happy Lunar New Year holiday through systematic fire prevention measures."
