Yoon Jae-ok, floor leader of the People Power Party, stated on the 16th, "The proportional alliance party is ultimately destined to split after the election, and no matter what justification is given, it is merely a trick to increase the number of seats through collusion."
At the floor strategy meeting held at the National Assembly that morning, Yoon addressed the Democratic Party of Korea, saying, "Instead of hiding behind minor opposition parties, declare a return to the parallel proportional representation system and compete confidently in the general election."
He said, "Since the Democratic Party's official position has not been decided, voices supporting the proposal from minor parties to maintain the current system and form a proportional alliance party encompassing the opposition have emerged internally,” and “The semi-linked proportional representation system is about deceiving the public and dividing seats among themselves,” he criticized.

He then raised his voice, saying, "What is even more outrageous is the arrogance that the public does not need to know how members of the National Assembly are elected, treating the people like fools."
Yoon referred to the 21st general election as a failed political experiment, evaluating that "the public experienced unprecedented confusion due to the complexity of the linked proportional representation system and the emergence of satellite parties, and felt considerable fatigue from the mergers and splits of minor parties."
He added, "The parallel proportional representation system is easy for the public to understand in terms of the election method and enables responsible competition based on the policies and pledges put forward by parties," emphasizing, "An electoral system that calculates how to reduce the opponent's seats by even one or how to increase one's own camp's influence even slightly is fundamentally flawed in its intent."
