Detects Intrusion Movements and Emits Warning Voice and LED Lights in Crime-Prone Areas Such as Row Houses, Multi-Family, and Multi-Household Residences
Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) installed 112 intrusion detection devices (H-Guard) in 37 vulnerable households, including single women households, to create a safe residential environment.
The intrusion detection device is a device that detects residential intrusion movements through a solar LED sensor and is mainly installed on building exterior walls where intruders can climb along gas pipes. When an intrusion movement is detected, it emits a voice message saying "Intrusion detected," and at night, it illuminates the detected area with LEDs to alert of the intruder's presence.
The district prepared this project to provide customized security measures suitable for the housing types of residents living in crime-prone areas. Since December last year, intrusion detection devices have been installed in multi-family, multiplex, and multi-household residences with high crime rates, completing the project on the 5th of this month.
Earlier, in July, the district selected project sites by analyzing security data together with the Gangbuk Police Station. By October, joint on-site inspections were conducted with the Gangbuk Police Station and the Women's Friendly City Resident Participation Group to finalize areas with high crime prevention effectiveness as project sites.
The district expects that this support project will prevent residential intrusion crimes and suppress the criminal mindset of intruders.
Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, "I hope this support project will alleviate the anxiety experienced by single women households," and added, "We will continue to promote projects to create a safe residential environment and strengthen crime prevention measures."
