National Mokpo University Holds Appointment Ceremony for New Professors

Performing Full-Time Faculty Roles in Various Fields

National Mokpo University (President Song Ha-cheol) held the ‘2024 Academic Year 1st Semester New Faculty Appointment Ceremony’ at 10:30 AM on the 10th in the Jeongsangmuk Conference Room of the 70th Anniversary Hall, with the president and other key officials in attendance.

According to Mokpo University on the 15th, a total of 24 new faculty members were appointed for the 1st semester of the 2024 academic year. As members of a national university representing the region, they are expected to fulfill their roles as full-time faculty in various fields including education, research, and industry-academia cooperation.

President Song Ha-cheol said at the appointment ceremony, “I sincerely welcome you as members of National Mokpo University, which is developing day by day. As professors of a national university and educational public officials, I hope you will contribute to the development of the region and the university with a strong sense of duty and the heavy responsibility that the future of National Mokpo University depends on your hands.” He added, “We will spare no effort to provide multifaceted support so that talented new faculty members can fully demonstrate their capabilities.”

The new faculty members expressed their commitment through an oath, stating, “With a special sense of mission as public officials, I will faithfully carry out my duties as a servant to the people.”

Furthermore, National Mokpo University plans to hold a new faculty capacity-building workshop from the 25th to the 26th, which will help new faculty members understand the current status of the university and the main tasks of each department, enabling them to quickly adapt to campus life.

An official from the Academic Affairs Office of National Mokpo University stated, “We appointed 24 new faculty members who passed the first round of the 2024 academic year 1st semester full-time faculty open recruitment as of the 10th. Currently, the second and third rounds of open recruitment for full-time faculty in a total of 19 invited fields are underway, and the final successful candidates will be newly appointed as of March 1.”
