Gwangju Seo-gu to Operate 'Car Tax Prepayment Period' from 16th to 31st

Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Ikang) will operate the automobile tax annual prepayment period from the 16th to the 31st of this month.

According to Seo-gu on the 15th, the automobile tax annual prepayment system allows taxpayers to pay the automobile tax, which is usually levied in June and December each year, in a lump sum in January and receive a tax deduction. If the annual automobile tax is paid at once, a 5% deduction is applied to the automobile tax for the period from February to December, effectively providing a discount benefit of about 4.57% on the annual tax amount.

The total levy scale is approximately 123,500 vehicles, amounting to about 28.1 billion KRW.

Automobile tax annual prepayment declarations can be made and paid through Wetax or by phone or visit application to the Automobile Tax Team of the Tax Division 2 at Seo-gu Office.

Seo-gu plans to provide convenience to annual tax payers through various methods such as ▲payment via virtual accounts dedicated for payment (Gwangju Bank, NongHyup Bank, Kookmin Bank, Shinhan Bank) ▲payment without transfer fees using the electronic payment number on the bill ▲payment by credit card, internet, and financial institution CD/ATM.
