Haman Nakwhanori Event and Haman Gotgam Festival ... Measures for Revitalization
On the morning of the 15th, the government of Haman-gun, Gyeongnam, held the January issue inspection meeting in the medium conference room on the 3rd floor of the annex building of the county office, presided over by Jo Geun-je, the governor of Haman-gun.
Governor Jo urged to actively promote this year’s tasks and to make every effort to secure national and provincial funds for the next year. He requested that preparations be completed by February to ensure the planned projects proceed without delay, and that the projects be fully launched starting in March.
He also asked to passionately engage in work to be selected for government public contest projects and to actively secure resources, doing their best for the development of the county.
He then instructed to push forward with speed by closely analyzing and revising or supplementing pledge projects and underperforming projects to seek alternatives, and to continuously manage completed pledge projects by exploring ways to expand and extend them.
Regarding the drop from grade 1 to grade 2 in the 2023 public institution integrity evaluation announced by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission last December, he requested a thorough analysis of the main causes of corruption in the underperforming areas of integrity perception and the establishment of improvement measures.
In response, he asked each department head to do their best to create a healthy organizational culture where diligent employees are recognized and feel rewarded.
Furthermore, he urged the establishment of improvement measures to enhance overall integrity this year, aiming to promote organizational change and vitality.
He then ordered the preparation of measures to revitalize the Haman Nakwhanori (Haman Fireworks) event.
Regarding last year’s Nakwhanori event, which attracted over 50,000 people and caused confusion and inconvenience to tourists, he emphasized the need for thorough preparation to prevent the same situation from occurring this year.
He requested the improvement of the viewing environment around Mujinjeong Pavilion, the promotion of convenience facility installation projects such as parking lots, and the development and activation of tourism programs that allow visitors to feel the unique charm of Haman Nakwhanori, making it a dignified event that tourists want to revisit.
He then encouraged related staff by congratulating the successful conclusion of the 13th Haman Gotgam Festival held over three days from the 12th to the 14th, and asked them to discover various programs for next year’s Haman Gotgam Festival.
He added that efforts should be made to establish the festival as the county’s representative winter festival by attracting many tourists through the discovery of diverse experiential programs that visitors can participate in and enjoy together.
He also requested efforts to develop various foods using gotgam (dried persimmons) and to strengthen differentiated marketing strategies and promotions from other regions.
Finally, Governor Jo said, “In the new year of Gapjin, with the spirit of Dongsim Gongje (同心共濟, united cooperation), I will gather strength and wisdom together with all employees to create a hopeful future,” and urged his fellow public officials to work even harder for the greater growth of the county.
