A story of a male netizen who suffered from financial hardship and asked for help on an online community, saying "I went three days without eating," is touching many. A netizen A, a man in his 40s, posted on the online community BobaeDream’s bulletin board on the 13th, saying, "I have gained strength from receiving a lot of help and encouragement, and I am trying to stand up again. I will live diligently."

Earlier, on the 10th, A posted a message titled "Sorry, but could anyone buy me a bowl of gukbap?" on the community board. A’s nickname was "Ije Kkeutnael Sigan" (meaning "Time to End Now"), and he repeatedly wrote and deleted the post. A few hours later, he left a follow-up with a photo of gukbap, saying, "Three people generously sent a total of 180,000 won."

He confessed, "When I received the contact, I shamelessly sent my bank account number. I was so hungry and wanted to live." He added, "I spoke on the phone with one person. I cried a lot after hearing words of comfort. I will never forget the comfort and help I received today, and I will not pass by others in difficulty."

A, who started day labor after struggling to make a living in another job, said that since last year’s rainy season, he has had difficulty working due to pain in his legs and back. He then sustained his livelihood with money earned from selling unused clothes and other belongings secondhand, and about 600,000 won received as emergency living support. Recently, his health improved, and he looked for work again, but since it was winter, it was difficult to find construction site jobs, and there were no vacancies for delivery work, so even that was difficult.

In this situation, having gone three days without eating, A said, "I suddenly had bad thoughts. I thought about selling my cellphone, but since it was damaged in many places externally, I couldn’t do that either." He continued, "But I was afraid of dying. So I asked for help on an online community I often visited, and I received warm support." He said, "I received a lot of help over two days. I am thankful to the person who came directly and gave me a padded jacket and a polar tee, the person who fixed my cellphone, the person who looked for a job for me, and everyone who helped me financially."

He added, "I was really pessimistic and in complete darkness, but many people shone light on me, so now I will stand up and take a step forward following that light." He said, "I will never forget this grace I received now, engrave it in my heart, and become someone who gives as well. Thank you for saving my life." The last post’s nickname had changed from "Ije Kkeutnael Sigan" ("Time to End Now") to "Angaenamu," which means "fog tree" and has the flower language of "Hope for Tomorrow."

Netizens commented on the story, saying, "It’s a really heartwarming story in these difficult times for everyone," "I hope you gain strength from a bowl of gukbap," and "The world is still worth living because there are people who help like this." On the other hand, some expressed concerns, saying, "The story is very sad, but there are definitely people who abuse such stories."
