First Event on the 26th... Scheduled to be Held Semiannually
The Financial Services Commission announced on the 15th that it will hold the "1st Fintech Open Networking Day" event on the 26th at the International Conference Room of the Bankers' Hall in Jung-gu, Seoul, with participation from fintech companies, financial institutions, and investment organizations.
This event is designed to provide comprehensive networking opportunities by enabling fintech companies to explore collaboration and cooperation with financial institutions in the digital sector, secure investment opportunities from investment organizations, and share information with other fintech companies operating in similar financial fields or overseas.
In particular, unlike previous investor relations (IR) sessions where fintech companies seeking investment presented their business models, this event will be conducted in a way that financial institutions and investment organizations present their business promotion, collaboration directions, and operational strategies targeting fintech startups.
The seven financial institutions participating in the presentations (KB Financial, Shinhan Financial, Woori Financial, DGB Financial, Hana Bank, NH Nonghyup Bank, and IBK Industrial Bank) will share the annual business plans of their fintech labs, including plans for selecting incubated companies, specific support details, partnership and investment linkage, and joint overseas expansion. They will also disclose excellent cases of cooperation with fintech companies during the digital transformation processes of their affiliates in banking, insurance, card, and securities sectors, as well as digital transformation collaboration tasks to be prioritized this year.
From the investment organizations, four fintech innovation fund managers?KB Investment, Seoul National University Technology Holdings, Infobank, and Flux Ventures-Mirae Asset Venture Investment?will participate. They will introduce their operational strategies, including the primary investment sectors, targets, and investment scale, and conduct a reverse IR session to share the current status of their management with fintech companies.
Consultation booths will also be operated by each institution during the event. IBK Industrial Bank and the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund will participate in the booths to provide information on fintech-specialized policy finance loans and guarantee products scheduled for supply this year. Additionally, a "Fintech Leader Mentoring" event will be held, where senior fintech companies share their experiences and know-how regarding challenges faced during the growth process of early-stage startups.
Meanwhile, this event is scheduled to be held regularly every six months starting from the 26th. For participation applications and inquiries, please refer to the Korea Fintech Support Center website.
