LetsRun Park Busan-Gyeongnam, Trainer Kang Hyung-gon Achieves 500 Wins Milestone

Trainer Kang Hyung-gon (57) of Korea Racing Authority Let's Run Park Busan-Gyeongnam (Director Song Dae-young) has achieved a personal milestone of 500 career wins.


According to Let's Run Park, on the 7th, in the 4th race at Busan-Gyeongnam, Trainer Kang's horse 'Special Hero' (5 years old, mare) competed and secured the victory.


Trainer Kang recorded his 499th win during the last racing week of last year and added one more win in the first racing week of this year. This 500th win was achieved 34 months after his 400th win in 2021 and marks the sixth such record among active trainers at Busan-Gyeongnam.

Trainer Kang Hyung-gon debuted as a trainer in 2004 during the preparation period for the opening of Let's Run Park Busan-Gyeongnam. He won the KRA Cup Mile in 2011 and the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Cup in 2019. In 2022 and 2023, he consecutively lifted the KNN Cup trophy with the victories of 'Camstrong' (5 years old, mare).


Marking his 21st anniversary since debut this year, Trainer Kang said, "Throughout my long racing career, there have been many ups and downs, but I have persevered without being obsessed with results, turning crises into opportunities." He added, "With a fresh start this year, I will do my best to create a second Camstrong and repay the love of the fans."
