Samsung Electronics, Official Partner of the Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games

Operation of 'Samsung Galaxy Olympic Experience Center' at Gangneung Olympic Park
'Conversation with Samsung Galaxy' also held for aspiring athletes and youth

Samsung Electronics announced on the 15th that it will participate as an official partner in the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games, which will be held from the 19th of this month to the 1st of next month.

The flame for the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games, ignited last October at the Panathinaiko Stadium in Athens, Greece, arrived at Incheon Airport Terminal 2. Jin Jong-oh, the chairman of the organizing committee, the torchbearers Yoon Shin-yi and Kim Hyun-gyeom, and the youth supporters who received the flame are taking a commemorative photo.

At Gangneung Olympic Park, the 'Samsung Galaxy Olympic Experience Center' decorated with a snowball concept will be operated. At the experience center, visitors can explore the key features of new products to be unveiled at the 'Galaxy Unpacked' event in San Jose, California, USA, on the 17th (local time).

Throughout the experience center, there will be a goods collection event featuring the Winter Youth Olympic Games and Gangwon Province, and outside the center, an approximately 8-meter-high photo zone featuring the official mascot of the Games, 'Mungcho,' will be set up.

Samsung Electronics will also hold a speaker invitation event called 'Conversation with Samsung Galaxy' from the 20th to the 28th, targeting aspiring Olympic athletes and general youth. Participants include 2018 Buenos Aires Summer Youth Olympic medalist and breaking national representative Kim Yeri, short track national representatives Kwak Yoon-gi and Hwang Dae-heon, and British snowboard national representative Katie Ormerod.

Previously, Samsung Electronics has been an official partner of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) since the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. It has sponsored the Youth Olympic Games since the first event, the 2010 Singapore Summer Youth Olympic Games.
