Holding a Communication Meeting for Public Service Officers

A meeting was held to explore ways to realize support for nursing and medical expenses for public officials who were injured or fell ill while working.

The Ministry of Personnel Management held a 'Communication Meeting for Public Officials Injured on Duty' on the 15th at the Government Sejong Complex to assist the return to work of injured public officials and provide realistic support for medical benefits.

The meeting was directly chaired by Kim Seung-ho, head of the Ministry of Personnel Management, and nine public officials who received treatment due to work-related injuries, including firefighters, police officers, coast guards, teachers, and military officials, participated.

At the meeting, the injured public officials expressed opinions on ▲expanding medical expense support ▲supporting return to work ▲professional training for agency personnel.

In particular, President Yoon Seok-yeol instructed at the Cabinet meeting on December 19 last year, "Ensure that there is no shortage in support for medical and nursing expenses for injuries sustained while performing official duties to protect the lives and safety of the people, and promptly revise related systems and regulations."

Accordingly, the Ministry of Personnel Management is preparing practical system improvement measures and plans to hold expert meetings with medical professionals and legal experts related to public official injury compensation on the 17th and 24th to gather expert opinions on improvement plans.

Kim Seung-ho, head of the Ministry of Personnel Management, said, "We will do our best to ensure that public officials injured in service who have devoted themselves to the country receive sufficient treatment support," and added, "We will review various opinions raised at the meeting from multiple angles to lead to system improvements."
