"Supporting Member Companies' Growth into Global Enterprises"
Members of the World Class Companies Association participated in CES 2024, the world's largest IT and home appliance exhibition, to directly experience the latest global technologies on site.
The World Class Companies Association announced that it conducted an overseas training program at CES held in Las Vegas, USA, from the 8th for a period of 6 nights and 8 days.
About 30 representatives and employees from member companies of the World Class Companies Association, including Dongjin Semichem, Daesung Hightech, Ritec, Hyosung Electric, TLB, Shilla Industry, Youngshin Precision, and AMS, attended CES, which is the world's largest home appliance exhibition held annually. It introduced not only electronic products closely related to daily life but also the latest IT technologies, attracting about 3,500 companies and 130,000 participants.
CES 2024 presented the theme "All Together, All On," highlighting key topics such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), transportation and mobility, Food Tech, AgTech, Health Care, and Human Security.
In particular, the exhibition focused on the rapid development of AI across all industries including infrastructure, healthcare, and smart homes, while technologies such as autonomous driving, electric vehicles, and urban air mobility (UAM) also drew attention this year.
Additionally, a separate tasting area within the venue allowed attendees to experience advancements in food and agricultural technology firsthand, while technologies centered on "human" themes such as customized and on-demand healthcare, wellness tech, environment, and human rights were also showcased.
Besides individual exhibition schedules, member companies also participated in a special invitation program by LG Display and toured the integrated Korean Pavilion featuring 26 companies, invited by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA).
Outside the exhibition hall, the schedule included a visit to the museum of Intel, a global semiconductor company, to explore the technological evolution of semiconductors; a visit to the Google campus where a dinner and discussion were held with engineers from Google Waymo, an autonomous vehicle company; and a visit to Plug and Play Tech, which has produced global companies such as Google, Uber, and PayPal, to deepen understanding of promising technologies and incubation systems.
Employees from member companies who participated in this training said, "Through this CES, we were able to feel the changes and rapid growth of global IT technology," adding, "We gained insights into technologies applicable to our companies along with a 'healthy sense of urgency' not to miss trends."
A representative of the World Class Companies Association stated, "This overseas training was organized to support member companies, which form the backbone of the domestic industry, in mastering global key technology trends so they can play a leading role in the global market," emphasizing, "We will continue to provide ongoing support so that member companies can grow not only domestically but also into world-class enterprises."
