Unauthorized Structures Occupying Public Sidewalks in Construction Zones, Immediate Demolition After Winning Eviction Lawsuit
Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) announced on the 15th that it has completed the 'Sindorim-dong Street Park Entrance Intersection Road Expansion Project' by demolishing unauthorized buildings within the construction area and finishing road construction around 433-17 Sindorim-dong.
This follows the completion of road construction between 439-58 and 427-4 Sindorim-dong in January last year, marking the fruition of Guro-gu's determination and efforts to complete projects essential to its residents.
There were some difficulties during the project implementation.
There was an unauthorized building (431-8 Sindorim-dong) occupying the public sidewalk within the construction area, which not only delayed the project but also harmed the urban landscape and threatened pedestrian safety.
In response, the district took proactive administrative measures by filing three lawsuits including injunctions to prohibit transfer of real estate possession, orders for real estate eviction, and real estate eviction lawsuits against the unauthorized occupant.
As a result, a favorable ruling was obtained on December 22, and the district began demolition work on December 29, just one week after the ruling, completing sidewalk paving on the day of demolition.
Through this project, the road between 439-58 and 427-4 Sindorim-dong was expanded to a width of 10 meters and a length of 107 meters, and the road around 433-17 Sindorim-dong was expanded to a width of 6 to 15 meters and a length of 485 meters.
In particular, the previously deteriorated and poor roads were improved, new stormwater drainage pipes were installed to prepare for localized heavy rain, and streetlights, traffic signals, and crosswalks were installed, thereby securing a safer road environment.
A Guro-gu official said, “We are glad to finally deliver good news to residents who have endured inconvenience,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to create a road environment where residents can travel safely and conveniently.”
