Seodaemun District Re-elected National Assembly Member Lee Seongheon, Seodaemun District Mayor, Visits Departments to Communicate and Encourage Staff... Seogangseok, Songpa District Mayor, Has Hamburger Lunch with 12 MZ Generation Employees for Communication

Employees must be happy for residents to be happy.

This is a common saying among Seoul district mayors. First and foremost, employees need to be happy for the services provided to residents to be at their best.

For this reason, district mayors are busy taking various actions to offer benefits such as warm words and improved welfare to their employees.

Seongheon Lee, Mayor of Seodaemun District, has started such efforts. Since the beginning of the new year, Mayor Lee has attracted attention by showing communication efforts to encourage employees and boost their morale.

A former two-term member of the National Assembly, Mayor Lee visited each department on the 5th and 8th of this month to spend time meeting with all employees. At these meetings, beyond exchanging New Year's greetings and well-wishes, candid conversations based on their usual thoughts took place.

Listening to various difficulties related to workspaces, welfare, tasks, and personnel matters, Mayor Lee said, "I will work harder to create a pleasant working environment and conditions so that everyone can work with enthusiasm," earning positive responses from the employees.

Earlier, on the first working day of the new year, Mayor Seongheon Lee replaced the traditional opening ceremony by personally greeting employees as they arrived at the district office entrance. He then had lunch with the employees in the cafeteria, sharing tteokguk (rice cake soup).

In his New Year's address, he also expressed gratitude to the employees, saying, "I fully recognize that the changes and growth in the region are thanks to your dedicated efforts and strong sense of mission." Mayor Seongheon Lee of Seodaemun District stated, “Public officials are no exception when it comes to enjoying 100% happiness in Seodaemun,” and added, “I will continue active communication with the belief that employees must be happy for residents to be happy.”

Sangseok Seo, Mayor of Songpa District, also spent time communicating with MZ generation employees, the core driving force of district administration, by having lunch with hamburgers on the 4th.

Mayor Seo prepared the occasion to openly listen to candid opinions about their duties and to freely share ideas that could help develop the district administration. On the 2nd, he also had lunch with the management office staff responsible for maintaining a pleasant environment in the district office building.

A total of 12 employees attended this gathering, including those in charge of illegal advertisement removal, development of district tourism souvenirs, and creation of the Songpa-daero luxury street?key tasks essential to district administration. In particular, an employee from the Urban Planning Department, who works hard to keep Songpa District clean through illegal advertisement removal, shared, “I will take to heart the advice given by senior public officials in this cheerful and enjoyable setting and will work even harder without losing my initial enthusiasm.”

Mayor Sangseok Seo of Songpa District said, “It was a meaningful time to have candid conversations with MZ employees, who are the future leaders of district administration,” and added, “I will continue to hold communication sessions with employees on the front lines of public administration to become a driving force for implementing servant leadership.”

Many Seoul district mayors are showing similar efforts.

A district mayor who cannot cherish their employees is unlikely to inspire moving actions for the residents.
