This meeting was organized to share successful cases of smart farm startups and discuss the difficulties and suggestions of young farmers. Minister Song, Sangju Mayor Kang Youngseok, Gyeongbuk Province Deputy Governor for Economy Lee Dalhee, Chairman of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Council Agriculture and Fisheries Committee Nam Youngsuk, Chairman of the Sangju City Council Ahn Kyungsook, and graduates of the 2nd and 3rd cohorts of the Smart Farm Innovation Valley Youth Startup Incubation Center attended to exchange opinions on major agricultural policy issues and smart agriculture.

The smart farm visited by Minister Song is a cucumber cultivation greenhouse incorporating various ICT convergence technologies, regarded as a successful case of young farmers who completed the Sangju Smart Farm Innovation Valley education program and settled in the local community.

Minister Song inspected Sangju City's excellent agricultural technology, listened to various support policies for young farmers and the difficulties faced by young farmers hoping to start rural businesses, and said, “For the future development of agriculture, we will continuously communicate with local young farmers to prepare various policy support measures and actively strive to enable young farmers to fully realize their dreams.”

Mayor Kang Youngseok of Sangju City, who visited the site with Minister Song, said, “It is most important to induce the successful settlement of young farmers trained through the excellent education program of the Sangju Smart Farm Innovation Valley, and Sangju City will also devise various support measures so that young farmers can lead agriculture and rural areas.”
