Son Heung-min, 'Galaxy Promotion' in Every Video Shoot, to Serve as Ambassador at Paris Olympics Too

Our national soccer team’s star Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur) has been selected as a promotional ambassador and player for 'Team Samsung Galaxy' to shine at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Samsung Electronics, the official partner of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), announced on the 11th the campaign message for the Paris Olympics and Paralympics, "Open always wins," along with the list of promotional ambassadors known as 'Team Samsung Galaxy' players.

Son Heung-min was selected as a Team Samsung Galaxy player alongside five other Korean athletes, including table tennis star Shin Yu-bin (Korean Air), shuttlecock queen An Se-young (Samsung Life Insurance), and promising sport climber Seo Chae-hyun (All That Sports). The Team Samsung Galaxy roster consists of athletes from various sports, including the new Paris Olympic event 'Breaking,' and more athletes from additional countries and sports are expected to be added in the future. The entire team includes 25 athletes from 10 countries worldwide. Notable names include Sky Brown (UK, skateboarding), Johan Defay (France, surfing), and Grace Sunny Choi (USA, breaking).

Team Samsung Galaxy players will share the core values of the campaign message?'open mind,' 'new perspectives,' and 'self-expression'?with the world and engage with fans.

Son Heung-min said, "It is an honor to be part of Team Samsung Galaxy alongside outstanding athletes competing in the Paris Olympics and Paralympics. Winning matches is important, but the memories we create together through the games during the event hold even greater value."

Son Heung-min’s recent enthusiasm for promoting Galaxy smartphones has drawn even more attention to his selection for the team. Preparing for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup held in Qatar from the 12th to next month’s 10th, Son frequently promoted the Galaxy Z Flip5 in videos on official channels of the Korea Football Association (KFA). During training camps in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), he was often seen holding the Galaxy Z Flip5 in his right hand and smiling at the camera whenever it was visible. Earlier, in July last year, he attracted attention by wearing the Galaxy Watch6, which had not yet been released, at Incheon International Airport before departing for the UK.

Son Heung-min has been active as a Galaxy brand ambassador since last year. Samsung Electronics gifted him the Galaxy Z Flip4 Maison Margiela Edition two years ago.
