China's Ministry of Commerce announced that Wang Wentao, Minister of Commerce of China, and Gina Raimondo, U.S. Secretary of Commerce, held a phone conversation that day. China stated that the call focused on implementing the important consensus reached at the San Francisco summit, and they engaged in deep and substantive communication on economic and trade issues of mutual interest.

During the call, Minister Wang emphasized that the commerce departments of both countries should leverage the positive role of communication and exchange mechanisms to create favorable conditions for corporate cooperation.

The Ministry of Commerce also stated that Minister Wang expressed serious concerns regarding the U.S. restrictions on semiconductor production equipment exports to China via third parties, semiconductor supply chain investigations, and sanctions and pressures on Chinese companies.

Additionally, both sides discussed national security concerns in the economic and trade sectors.
