The representative festival of Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Ikang), the ‘Seochang Eulssae Festival,’ has won the Grand Prize in the Content category at the Korea Festival Content Awards again this year, following last year.
According to Seo-gu on the 11th, the Korea Festival Content Association hosts the Korea Festival Content Awards to promote pride in the festival content industry by recognizing local festivals that have greatly contributed to the regional festival content industry and to encourage the global development of Korean local festivals.
This year’s awards targeted festivals held last year that had excellent content or high potential for development. A panel of 25 judges, including professors, directors, journalists, and industry representatives who are experts related to festivals, evaluated and decided on awards for 30 festivals across 6 categories, as well as special awards such as the Director’s Award, totaling 35 festivals.
The Gwangju Seochang Eulssae Festival received high praise for executing various programs with differentiated content from other festivals in the emotional space of Seochang fields where the sunset and melodies linger, expressing global issues such as global warming and climate crisis, including ▲Big Table Zone (BTZ) ▲Eulssae Field Spacing Out Contest ▲Themed Eulssae Path ▲Three Promises ▲Art Container ▲Eulssae Field Light Yoga.
Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, “Through the diverse content of the Seochang Eulssae Festival, where silver eulssae and the evening sunset harmonize, we will establish it as a representative healing landscape festival of Gwangju.”
This year’s Seochang Eulssae Festival is scheduled to be held along the Yeongsan River in early October.
