Supporting Teachers' Emotional Health Maintenance and Recovery
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Ha Yun-su) Teacher Healing Center will operate various 'Winter Vacation Psychological Healing Programs' throughout January for teachers in kindergartens, elementary, middle, high, and special schools.
This program was prepared to provide psychological healing for teachers who have suffered from infringements on educational activities and to prevent such infringements.
The Teacher Healing Center will run four courses: ▲Communication Improvement for Early-Career Teachers (1/15~1/16, 15 participants) ▲Resilience Enhancement Group Counseling (1/18~1/19, 15 participants) ▲Positive Psychology Group Counseling (1/22~1/23, 15 participants) ▲Self-Esteem Enhancement Psychological Testing (1/25, 35 participants).
The center has assembled an instructor team consisting of professors from psychology departments of universities in the Busan area and others holding doctoral degrees to provide high-quality psychological healing programs for teachers.
Ha Yun-su, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "This will greatly help maintain and restore the mental health of teachers in the field," adding, "We will devote efforts to support teachers' psychological health."
In addition to this program, the Teacher Healing Center conducted 1,407 individual counseling sessions, 165 group counseling sessions, 29 teacher capacity-building training sessions, 6 Teacher Healing Camps, 150 psychological tests, and 2,253 online psychological tests last year, carrying out projects to support the psychological and emotional health of teachers in schools.
