'First to See, First to Greet'
Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) Campaign
Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) announced that the ‘Meonmeon Day’ campaign, which started last year under the slogan ‘The 3-second miracle that brings distant people closer,’ is set to expand significantly through a ‘Social Network Service (SNS) Challenge.’
The ‘Meonmeon Day’ campaign means ‘the person who sees first greets first.’ The district views the recovery of social bonds as a fundamental solution to the deepening social isolation and neighborhood conflicts, and launched the campaign to establish a culture of shared greetings.
Following last year’s distribution of ‘Meonmeon Day stickers’ and the ‘Visiting Meonmeon Day Campaign,’ the district plans to greatly expand the Meonmeon Day culture this year through a new Social Network Service (hereafter referred to as ‘SNS’) Challenge.
The ‘Meonmeon Day Challenge’ is open to all residents. Participants take photos of themselves joining the Meonmeon Day campaign, post them on their personal SNS, and nominate three friends or acquaintances. The nominated individuals then participate in the campaign in the same way within 48 hours.
This challenge is distinctive because it has no regional limitations and breaks away from the traditional passive campaign format by encouraging direct and proactive participation.
The first participant in this ‘Meonmeon Day Challenge’ will be Park Gang-su, the Mayor of Mapo-gu.
The district expects the campaign to spread significantly through the ‘Meonmeon Day Challenge,’ as the use of personal SNS is high among the MZ generation, youth, and middle-aged groups.
Mayor Park Gang-su said, “Greeting is not only the foundation of all relationships but also the basis for forming tight social bonds that prevent unnecessary conflicts and isolation. We ask for the residents’ great interest in the Mapo-gu ‘Meonmeon Day Challenge’ and hope everyone will participate with joy.”
