Busan Youth Policy Research Institute Appoints Dr. Gong Ji-heun as 5th Director

Graduate of the Department of Storytelling, Graduate School, Dong-Eui University

Dr. Gong Ji-heun has been appointed as the 5th president of the Busan Youth Policy Research Institute.


The institute announced on the 10th that Dr. Gong Ji-heun (age 43), a graduate of the Storytelling Department at Dong-Eui University Graduate School, will assume the position starting from the 11th.


Dr. Gong served as the head of the corporate research institute at Neo Technology Co., Ltd. and 'Moment and Eternity' from 2005 to 2023. He has conducted research and lectures while serving as an adjunct professor at Dong-Eui University and Silla University.

Kim Deok-yeol, chairman of the board of directors of the Busan Youth Policy Research Institute and CEO of Dunam Chemical, explained the background of this appointment by saying, "Given the nature of planning and researching policies and events for young CEOs, a leader who understands corporate culture and has research and development experience is needed."


He also stated that since we are conducting many projects and programs for youth, a person who has consistently engaged with young people is the right candidate.


Newly appointed President Gong Ji-heun has promoted planning and research and development for various projects in corporations and universities.


The institute introduced President Gong as a person who has maintained close contact with youth through university lectures.


The Busan Youth Policy Research Institute is a nonprofit corporation under the Busan Metropolitan City that plans and researches education, policy research, and events for Busan’s youth and young CEOs.


Currently, it operates educational projects including its own academy, the Busan Policy Advanced Course, and Youth School, which collaborates with Busan City and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency. It also conducts various youth policy-related projects such as the RE-START project in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, neighborhood youth activity space programs in Busanjin District, and the Youth FLEX project.


The institute plans to recruit participants for the 7th Busan Policy Advanced Course by the end of March this year and operate the course starting in April.
