Changes in Dongdaemun-gu in 2024: What to Expect

Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) has published "Changes in 2024," a booklet that allows residents to easily check the new or revised policies and systems implemented this year in celebration of the Gapjin Year (甲辰年).

The district office produces and distributes this leaflet every early year to resolve residents' questions and provide useful information for daily life by compiling newly changed policies and systems.

"Changes in 2024" includes 22 selected pieces of district administration information and government policies across five areas: ▲Health & Welfare ▲Education & Culture ▲Economy & Jobs ▲Architecture & Environment ▲General & Administration, designed in an easy-to-view size.

Key contents featured this year include ▲Increase in parental allowance (infant allowance) ▲Changes in the selection criteria for livelihood benefits for national basic livelihood security recipients ▲Expansion of the Youth Administrative Intern Support Project ▲Promotion of Dongdaemun-gu Moa Town ▲Operation of Dongdaemun Children's Architecture School ▲Implementation of the Visiting Dongdaemun-gu Citizen Grievance Committee (Ombudsman), among others.

Additionally, it contains useful information such as the establishment of a childcare support project for the first child upon the birth of a second child, expansion of support for sports lesson vouchers and disabled sports lesson vouchers, and the change of operation days for the Dongdaemun-gu Companion Plant Clinic Center to Tuesday through Saturday.

"Changes in 2024" will be available for easy access at the district office's comprehensive civil service center and 14 neighborhood community centers, and can also be viewed on the district website.

Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, "We have compiled projects closely related to residents' daily lives among the new policies and systems initiated by our district, central government ministries, and Seoul City into 'Changes in 2024.' Although we are promoting various projects for residents, we will strive for more effective district administration publicity to prevent unfortunate cases where residents miss out on benefits due to lack of information."
