In Gangwon, Seoul F&B and Inseong Medical; in Sejong, Korea Biochem Pharmaceutical; in Ulsan, Autorex; in Daegu, Gooyoung Tech; in Daejeon, Wontec and Huvis; in Gwangju, Jointree; in Chungbuk, Wooyoung Medical; and in Busan, Dasco were named.

Super-Regional Leading Companies refer to regional SMEs that demonstrate high innovation, growth potential, and contribution to the local economy in key regional industry sectors, and play a core role by forming supply chains that transcend city and provincial boundaries.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups selected 100 'Regional Innovation Leading Companies' in 14 non-capital region cities and provinces in November 2022. Among them, companies were chosen as Super-Regional Leading Companies based on their collaboration capabilities such as technology cooperation, production, and sales with companies from other regions.

The Ministry will support Super-Regional Leading Companies with up to 200 million KRW over three years for product improvement, market expansion, and consulting. A technology guarantee program with a limit of 5 billion KRW will also be operated. In collaboration with the Financial Services Commission, policy finance programs including 200 billion KRW in credit guarantees and 500 billion KRW in loans will be linked and supported for Regional Innovation Leading Companies and Super-Regional Leading Companies.

Kim Woo-jung, Director of Regional Enterprise Policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, “The Ministry cooperated with 14 non-capital region cities and provinces to reorganize regional key industries last February, and in November, launched the regional specialized project ‘Legend 50+’ to actively foster regional SMEs. We will focus on supporting Super-Regional Leading Companies to establish a growth model for regional representative companies that connect Regional Innovation Leading Companies and Super-Regional Leading Companies.”
