Naju-si Simplifies Application Process for Agricultural Machinery Purchase Support Program

Naju City in Jeollanam-do is receiving praise for its proactive administration that simplifies the application process for the ‘Agricultural Machinery Purchase Support’ project, aimed at reducing the burden on farmers and improving productivity.

Starting this year, applicants for the project can visit the Eup, Myeon, or Dong Administrative Welfare Centers with only their ID cards, without needing to submit various supporting documents, enabling a one-stop application process.

According to Naju City on the 9th, previously, applicants had to visit relevant institutions such as agricultural machinery suppliers and the Agricultural Products Quality Management Service in person to obtain and verify various documents like estimates and certificates for the application.

Even elderly or mobility-impaired farmers faced significant inconvenience because they could not receive additional points without personally verifying the documents.

In response, Naju City has greatly simplified the application procedure from this year, reflecting farmers’ requests and improving convenience.

The city collects all applicant lists including those who completed education, eco-friendly certifications, GAP, and return-to-farming confirmation letters, and provides them to each Eup, Myeon, and Dong, allowing the administrative welfare centers, where applications are submitted, to verify directly.

Accordingly, farmers only need to bring their ID cards and visit the administrative welfare center to fill out the application form, and the staff can check each applicant’s details and process the application in a one-stop manner.

The agricultural machinery purchase support project includes five categories: ‘multi-purpose small agricultural machinery,’ ‘mobile multi-use workbench,’ ‘female-friendly multi-purpose small electric carrier,’ ‘attachment of agricultural machinery lighting devices,’ and ‘agricultural fuel storage tanks.’ A total of 430 million KRW is invested to support 477 units of agricultural machinery.

Applications are accepted from the 10th of this month until February 8th at the Eup, Myeon, or Dong Administrative Welfare Centers based on the applicant’s address. Detailed information on eligibility and each project can be found in the announcements section on the city hall website.

Yoon Byung-tae, Mayor of Naju, said, “The complicated document issuance and verification process in the agricultural machinery purchase support project has been greatly simplified, resolving longstanding inconveniences for farmers. We will continue to do our best to discover and implement proactive administrative practices that citizens can feel.”
