"Want to Warm Children's Hearts" Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin Quietly Donate 150 Million Won

Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin Couple Donate to Seoul Asan Medical Center and Baby Box
Continuing Good Deeds Including Donation for Samcheong Wildfire Damage and Scholarships for Disabled Children

Couple Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin have been revealed to have donated a total of 150 million KRW to Seoul Asan Medical Center and Jusarang Community Baby Box with the intention of safely protecting lives in crisis during the cold winter at the end of the year.

On December 25th last year, the couple donated 50 million KRW to Jusarang Community Baby Box (operated by Pastor Lee Jong Rak). They promised Jusarang Community Baby Box to use the funds 100% for supporting children’s independence through child sponsorship and counseling for single-mother families who decided to raise their babies, saying, "Please use this to help babies who were inevitably protected in the Baby Box and left their mother’s arms to grow up safely in orphanages."

In particular, they added that they readily participated in the sponsorship after hearing that Jusarang Community Baby Box is operated solely by donations without any government support and that donations have been decreasing due to the economic downturn. Currently, Jusarang Community supports about 200 children protected through the Baby Box and growing up in orphanages by providing a fixed monthly independence support fund (Didim Seed Bank) until they leave the facility. They also provide unconditional free support including childcare kits, living expenses, medical expenses, housing costs, and legal assistance for three years to about 120 single-mother families who decided to raise their babies through counseling, which inevitably causes ongoing economic difficulties.

Pastor Lee Jong Rak said, "The good influence of the couple Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin has blossomed like a lively flower in the frozen winter," and added, "I pray that the couple Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin and their baby will be a family blessed with God’s grace and blessings in the new year 2024."

Additionally, the couple generously donated a large sum to Seoul Asan Medical Center. Son Ye Jin said, "Everyone is going through difficult and hard times," and added, "I wanted to warmly melt the hearts of children who are more in need of help than ever."

Previously, when they were engaged in March 2022, Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin donated 200 million KRW to be used for victims who lost their homes due to wildfires in Uljin, Gyeongbuk, and Samcheok, Gangwon. On January 7th of the new year of Gapjin, they continued to show their good influence by helping disabled organizations through the "Bazaar Filled with Son Ye Jin’s Heart." They are also supporting scholarships for children with incurable diseases and low-income disabled children.
