Selected for 64 Public Projects Securing Over 10.1 Billion KRW in External Funding...Received 38 External Awards Including Presidential Citation, Additional 500 Million KRW Financial Incentives
Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced on the 9th that it secured more than 10.6 billion KRW in funding by achieving excellent results in public contest projects and external agency evaluations conducted throughout 2023.
The district has been striving to secure external resources and strengthen external competitiveness by encouraging active participation in public contest projects hosted by central government ministries and Seoul City through conducting 'Public Contest Response Strategy Training' for its employees.
As a result, last year, Dongdaemun-gu was selected for 64 public contest projects, securing over 10.1 billion KRW in external funding, and won 38 awards in external agency evaluations, additionally obtaining 567 million KRW in financial incentives.
The major selected public contest projects include ▲Smart Village Distribution and Expansion Project (1.1 billion KRW) ▲Seoul Campus Town Participating University Contest (1.7 billion KRW) ▲Waterfront Vitality Hub Creation Autonomous District Contest (3 billion KRW), among others.
Additionally, Dongdaemun-gu was selected for Seoul City-hosted projects such as ▲Design Innovation Traditional Market Creation Project and ▲Hanok Village Project Site Discovery and Development Target Site Contest, which are expected to positively influence the creation of the global TOP5 ‘Cheongnyang Market Mall’ promoted by Dongdaemun-gu.
Key awards in external agency evaluations include ▲being ranked first among 226 local governments in the ‘Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, receiving the Presidential Citation and 230 million KRW, and ▲winning the Excellence Award (Ministerial Award) in the ‘National Local Government Job Awards’ hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, securing 70 million KRW in project funds.
Moreover, Dongdaemun-gu achieved excellent results in Ministry of the Interior and Safety-hosted evaluations such as ▲Local Government Government Innovation Evaluation Ministerial Citation ▲Disaster Management Evaluation Ministerial Citation ▲Excellent Project Performance Sharing Contest Ministerial Award, and in the health sector, it received ▲Ministerial Citation for National Immunization Program Merit ▲Excellence Award (Ministerial Award) at the Integrated Health and Welfare Performance Contest for Persons with Disabilities.
