Applicants Aged 30-40 Account for 72%
Jinju City in Gyeongnam announced on the 9th that 135 applicants applied for 16 public service worker positions in 2024, recording an average competition rate of 8.4 to 1.
The city accepted applications for nine job categories from the 3rd to the 5th, including environmental public service workers, animal protection duties, cooks, chrysanthemum cultivation and management, medical aid managers, and child welfare teachers.
The job category with the highest competition rate was Family Center Case Manager, with a ratio of 22 to 1 (1 position, 22 applicants), followed by Animal Protection duties at 19 to 1 (1 position, 19 applicants). Additionally, the environmental public service worker position, which consistently attracts many applicants each year, recorded a competition rate of 8.7 to 1 (4 positions, 35 applicants).
Applicants by age group were 17 in their 20s (12.6%), 44 in their 30s (32.6%), 53 in their 40s (39.3%), and 21 in their 50s (15.5%), with those in their 30s and 40s accounting for 72% of the total.
Meanwhile, Jinju City will announce the successful candidates of the document screening on the Jinju City website on the 15th after the document review, and a written exam will be held at schools in Jinju on February 3rd.
A city official stated, “To ensure transparent and fair recruitment, all progress will be announced through the website,” adding, “We will thoroughly prepare to ensure the recruitment process is conducted fairly and transparently.”
