Management Agency Crowning Shares Thoughts
"I Will Continue to Devote Time to Volunteering and Self-Reflection"
"No Specific Return Date Set, Focusing on Training"
‘Ogu Play’ Yoon Ina expressed her feelings about returning to the field after receiving a reduced disciplinary penalty.
On the 8th, through her management company Crowning, she said, “I am grateful to the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) and the Korea Golf Association (KGA) for giving me the opportunity to compete again as a player,” and bowed her head, adding, “I will continue to dedicate myself to service and self-reflection.” She also reflected, saying, “I will devote myself to training until I stand on the field again for the fans who hope and support my return,” and “I sincerely apologize once again to everyone who was troubled by my wrongful actions.”
In June 2022, during the Korea Women’s Open, Yoon Ina knowingly continued the game with a ball that was not hers, and about a month after the tournament ended, she voluntarily reported this to the KGA. In August 2022, she received a three-year suspension from the KGA, and in September, she received the same penalty from the KLPGA. However, the KGA reduced the suspension to one year and six months last September, and on this day, the KLPGA also shortened the disciplinary period to one year and six months, making Yoon Ina’s return to the field this year possible. The KGA suspension ends next month, and the KLPGA suspension expires in March.
The KLPGA Tour will hold two overseas tournaments in March, but Yoon Ina cannot participate due to her suspension period. She will be able to compete starting from the domestic season opener scheduled for April. She pledged, “I will never repeat the same mistake and will play honestly and diligently according to the spirit and rules of golf,” and “I will make every effort to open the hearts of my fellow players.” Yoon Ina is cautious about the timing of her first tournament appearance. Crowning stated, “We will not specify the return date and will focus on training until her performance recovers to a certain level.”
