Guro-gu, 2 Million Won Celebration Bonus for Fourth and Subsequent Births

Third Payment of 600,000 Won... Increase in First Meeting Voucher as Well

Guro-gu, 2 Million Won Celebration Bonus for Fourth and Subsequent Births

Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) will provide a birth congratulatory gift of 600,000 KRW for the third child born this year and 2,000,000 KRW for the fourth child and beyond.

This decision reinstates the Guro-gu birth congratulatory gift, which was suspended when the government expanded childbirth and childcare support funds such as the First Meeting Voucher in 2022.

The recipients are newborns who are the third child or higher registered in Guro-gu, applicable from births in 2024. For more detailed information, please contact the local community service center.

Additionally, the First Meeting Voucher remains 2,000,000 KRW for the first child as before, but increases to 3,000,000 KRW from the second child onward. Parental allowance has been raised from 700,000 KRW per month to 1,000,000 KRW for zero-year-old children, and from 350,000 KRW per month to 500,000 KRW for one-year-old children. Child allowance and home care allowance remain at 100,000 KRW per month.

Furthermore, Guro-gu is implementing various programs for childbirth and childcare, including ▲ 1,000,000 KRW postpartum care support for all childbirth families ▲ Seoul Baby Health First Steps project where specialized infant health nurses visit childbirth families ▲ postpartum care helper visits for mother and newborn health management ▲ visiting happy breastfeeding support project ▲ medical expense support for high-risk pregnant women and premature infants ▲ Nutrition Plus project for pregnant women and infants ▲ pregnancy preparation support for both men and women ▲ infertility treatment expenses and Korean medicine infertility treatment support.

Moreover, by the end of this year, a Maternal and Child Health Center will be completed in Gaebong-dong to provide systematic and comprehensive health management for pregnant women and infants.

A Guro-gu official stated, “We strongly encourage eligible families to apply,” and added, “We will do our best to create an environment that is good for having and raising children.”
