2024 New Year's Meeting Successfully Held? Major Projects for Greater Change in Dongjak Get Underway
Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) held the 2024 New Year's Greeting Meeting at the district office auditorium at 10 a.m. on the 4th, pledging a strong start to leap forward as Dongjak, a city of the highest value, together with residents.
About 700 people attended the New Year's Greeting Meeting, including Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, Oh Se-hoon, Mayor of Seoul, members of the National Assembly, party committee chairpersons, city and district council members, and resident representatives, brightening the event.
This year, to show respect to all those who contributed to the development of Dongjak, the district mayor personally introduced the key guests and residents attending the New Year's Greeting Meeting.
In his New Year's address, Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, stated, "This year will be the year when policies leading changes in various fields of Dongjak-gu get on the right track."
In particular, the focus is on ▲ full-scale urban development to enhance the city's value ▲ advancement of Dongjak-gu's unique welfare system ▲ creating a pleasant and convenient living environment by resolving long-standing daily inconveniences.
First, Dongjak-gu-style urban development will be in full swing, including ▲ establishment of a future-oriented healthcare silver town ▲ full-scale promotion of Dongjak-gu-style specialized apartments ▲ application of unique urban landscape designs along major streets.
As part of Dongjak-gu's unique welfare policies, the district will operate ▲ babysitter dispatch services for families with infants and toddlers ▲ support for 'evening lunchboxes' for children in extended daycare centers ▲ opening of the Sadang-dong English playground ▲ re-leasing of youth rental housing ▲ operation of a happiness call taxi service for seniors.
In the area of resolving daily inconveniences, plans include ▲ improvement of traffic signal systems causing resident discomfort ▲ promotion of express train stops at Heukseok Station ▲ operation of clean task forces by neighborhood.
Furthermore, the district shared with residents the changing appearance of the area due to newly established infrastructure in each neighborhood, greatly raising expectations for the evolving Dongjak.
Among 482 daily changes achieved by the district last year, the 'Top 10 News of Dongjak-gu' selected by residents ranked 'Creation of Public Parking Lots' as number one.
Other selected items included ▲ relocation of utility poles ▲ increase in Dongjak's real estate value ▲ significant expansion of road heating systems ▲ opening of the Senior Happiness Call Center.
Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, said, "This was an occasion not only to share the district's development and changes last year but also to introduce key projects that enhance future value and reaffirm our determination," adding, "During the remaining term, we will successfully lead policies to make Dongjak a city of value that residents take pride in."
