Samsung Electronics Washing Machines, Refrigerators, and Air Conditioners Receive UK 'Carbon Footprint' Certification

Samsung Electronics announced on the 7th that its washing machines, refrigerators, and air conditioners have received carbon footprint certification from the UK non-profit certification body 'Carbon Trust.'

The certified products include a total of 10 models: six Bespoke Grande AI washing machines, three Bespoke refrigerators with 2 doors, and one wall-mounted Wind-Free air conditioner. The greenhouse gas emissions measured in this certification will be used as a standard to evaluate whether carbon emissions are reduced during the production of these products or their successors.

Samsung Electronics is actively expanding the application of recycled resin in plastic parts used in home appliances. The company has set a goal to apply recycled resin to 50% of plastic parts by 2030 and to all plastic parts by 2050. Moon Jong-seung, Vice President of Samsung Electronics' DA Division, stated, "We will develop sustainable technologies that can be applied throughout the lifecycle of Samsung home appliances to effectively reduce carbon emissions."
