The Korea Golf Course Management Association (KGBA) held its 50th anniversary ceremony on the 5th at the Dynasty Hall of the Shilla Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul.


Korea Golf Course Management Association "New Start on 50th Anniversary" Park Chang-yeol, Chairman of the Korea Golf Course Management Association, is delivering a welcome speech at the 50th anniversary ceremony.

Over 300 people attended, including key figures who have led the association's growth and the development of South Korea's golf course industry over the past 50 years, golf course managers from member companies, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Yoo In-chon, Lee Yong-ho, Secretary of the National Assembly's Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee, and Jo Hyun-jae, Chairman of the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation. The association started 50 years ago on January 5, 1974, with 17 member companies, and as of January 2024, the number of member companies has reached 206.


Park Chang-yeol, President of KGBA, stated, "Since its founding, the association has led the domestic golf industry and served as a space for sports and social interaction that promotes public health." He added, "In the new century, we will do our utmost for the rights and interests of the nation, the public, and our member companies." He emphasized, "We will focus on improving the heavy tax rates and various regulations on golf courses," and "We will also concentrate on the digitalization of golf courses using AI and big data for climate change response and sustainable management."
