Dongdaemun-gu Public Relations Manager Kim Eun-kyung and Seongdong-gu Communication Officer Kim Eun-kyung Share the Same Name... Seocho-gu Public Relations Team Leader Kim Eun-kyung Also Draws Attention for Having the Same Name
With the new year, many of the public relations officers in Seoul's autonomous districts have changed.
When someone gets promoted, a successor comes in, or transfers to another department, causing each district to be somewhat unsettled due to the January 1 personnel changes.
Amid this, public relations officers in Seoul's districts who share the same name have attracted attention.
Kim Eun-kyung, Head of Public Relations in Dongdaemun-gu (54), transferred from working at Seoul City to Dongdaemun-gu in August last year and has been serving as the PR head for two years. After graduating from Korea University with a degree in Business Administration, she joined Seoul City in 2005 through the Grade 7 public service exam and served as the head of the Digital Cooperation Team, among other roles.
Having moved back to her hometown of Dongdaemun-gu where she grew up, she supports Mayor Lee Pil-hyung’s key projects such as the ‘City of Flowers’ and ‘Carbon Neutral City Creation’ alongside Press Team Leader Hong Seung-hee, Manager Bae Hyun-jin, and staff members Han Eu-tteum and Choi Jin-seon.
Kim Eun-kyung, Communication Officer in Seongdong-gu (53), is a prominent PR figure within Seongdong-gu, having served as press officer and press team leader. She started as a Grade 9 public official in 1991 and has held positions such as press team leader, autonomous administration team leader, head of the Women and Family Division, and head of Haengdang 2-dong before being appointed as the Communication Officer.
Officer Kim, together with Press Team Leader Lee Hye-sook and staff members Kim Hyung-joo and Hong Seung-hwa, shines in supporting the smart inclusion policies of Jeong Won-oh, the only three-term mayor in Seoul.
Additionally, Kim Eun-kyung, Head of the Public Relations Team in Seocho-gu (45), was appointed as the head of the PR team responsible for newsletters and other communications in this personnel reshuffle.
Because Korean names are mostly based on Chinese characters, there are many people with the same name. Especially among Seoul's district public relations officers, having multiple people with the same name like this draws attention.
