Chairman Oh Se-cheol Expresses Commitment to 'Fieldwork Legislation, Open Legislation, Policy Legislation'... Visits National Seoul National Cemetery After New Year's Meeting
The Seocho District Council (Chairman Oh Se-cheol) held a New Year's greeting meeting on the 5th and began its first official activity of the year by paying respects at the National Seoul Memorial Cemetery.
About 110 people attended the New Year's greeting meeting held in the morning, including Chairman Oh Se-cheol, Vice Chairman Ahn Jong-suk, Seocho District Council members, Seocho District Mayor Jeon Seong-su, Chairman Choi Jeong-gyu of the Council Association and its members, City Council members Choi Ho-jeong, Lee Sook-ja, Go Gwang-min, and executives from the district and neighborhood offices.
The 16 Seocho District Council members exchanged New Year's greetings and well-wishes with the attendees and shared the legislative direction for 2024.
In his New Year's address, Chairman Oh Se-cheol said, "We will carry out 'field-oriented legislation' that breathes with the residents, 'open legislation' that listens carefully to even the smallest voices, and 'policy legislation' that studies and researches." He added, "Through warm and responsible legislative activities, we will build a council that empathizes with residents and earns their trust."
In particular, the message of harmony and companionship was emphasized at this New Year's greeting meeting. Mayor Jeon Seong-su, who gave a congratulatory speech, said, "Let the executive branch and the council unite their hearts and work together for the residents and the development of Seocho District." Chairman Choi Jeong-gyu of the Council Association also encouraged, "We are always supporting from behind for the development of Seocho District and the council." Vice Chairman Ahn Jong-suk mentioned 'Hyusu Donghaeng (携手同行),' meaning 'holding hands and moving forward together,' and urged, "Let us cooperate for the common goal of residents' happiness."
Meanwhile, after the New Year's greeting meeting, the council members visited the National Seoul Memorial Cemetery to pay respects and lay flowers for the patriots and war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country. The council will hold the 331st extraordinary session on the 16th and begin full-scale legislative activities.
